How it works for the Drivers

Drivers need to have personal vehicle insurance in order to be eligible for driving with us. Furthermore, we provide Northbridge’s auto insurance to the drivers once they get registered with us.

Policy covers

01When you’re not logged in to the
ZoomZoom App:

  • You’re covered entirely by your personal vehicle insurance.
  • You have no trip or passengers.

02When You’re logged in and are available
to accept a trip:

You are being covered by our insurance policy with the following terms:

  • $1,000,000 Third Party Liability
  • Standard Accident Benefits
  • $1,000 Deductible for All Perils, Collision, Comprehensive or Specified Perils

03When you’re enroute to pick up a passenger or when you’re transporting the passenger:

You are being covered by our insurance policy with the following terms:

  • $2,000,000 Third Party Liability
  • Standard Accident Benefits
  • $1,000 Deductible for All Perils, Collision, Comprehensive or Specified Perils*
  • Up to $1,500 for transportation replacement**
  • No depreciation on new vehicles***

What is 3rd-party liability insurance?

3rd party insurance normally covers physical injury or property damage to someone else or their belongings in case of an accident.

What is uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury insurance?

This insurance covers injuries to you and your passengers in a covered incident caused by a driver who lacks sufficient insurance.

What is contingent collision & comprehensive coverage?

Covers damage to your car up to its actual cash value – minus a deductible – as long as you already have personal comprehensive and collision coverage.

What insurance do I need to drive with ZoomZoom?

You need a valid personal auto insurance policy. For complete details, we recommend reaching out to your insurance company.

What kind of proof of insurance is provided for ZoomZoom drivers?

If you’re a ZoomZoom driver, you can access an electronic certificate of automobile insurance through the ZoomZoom driver-partner app. If you’re involved in a traffic infraction or an accident while participating in ridesharing, please refer to that certificate.

Who do ZoomZoom drivers contact to get covered?

All ZoomZoom drivers are automatically covered by Northbridge Insurance’s commercial policy without having to contact Northbridge Insurance. However, all driver must first ensure their personal auto policy allows for their vehicle to be used for ridesharing.

Who will work with me in case of an accident while driving with ZoomZoom?

In the event of an accident, ZoomZoom drivers should call the Northbridge Insurance claims line at 1-855-621-6262. Experienced, knowledgeable and efficient claims experts are available to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
